My name is Nina Cook-Gallardo! I am a recent graduate from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, with a degree in Psychology and Spanish. I am originally from Moscow, Idaho but have been in Minnesota for the past 5 years for school and work. I am an adult rehabilitative mental health worker. As an ARMHS worker, I work closely with clients on their decided goals that are affected by their mental/physical functioning. These goals can range from finding housing/obtaining work to exercising or staying clean of substances. Being a woman of color, who comes from a low-income background, I can empathize and connect with my clients. Working with adults (18+) from low-income/diverse backgrounds motivates me to help each individual achieve their goals. Besides working as an ARMHS worker, I like to spend my time watching shows on Netflix and playing the guitar and piano. Above all else, my favorite pastime is playing with my cat, Peach.
Hello, I am Daniel Raskin. I am a student intern and an ARMHS worker at KESMA Flame Lily LLC. I am currently a graduate student at Wurzweiler School of Social Work pursuing a clinical concentration and utilizing KESMA Flame Lily LLC as my work placement. Most recently, I have worked as an Independent Living Skills Worker in the metro area and have completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Excelsior College online. My experience in school and the field has led me to a passion for helping individuals struggling with all types of mental health challenges live their ideal lives. I grew up in the western suburbs of Minneapolis and had a childhood mixed with fun and good memories, and also certain struggles. When I was 8 years old, my mother lost her life to the battle with depression.
I have been trying to understand this horrible disease ever since which influenced my path to where I am today. I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing sports, ultimate frisbee being my favorite, playing the drums, and going to school. When I finished high school at Hopkins High school, I started to take interest in my Jewish heritage and have since then spent time in Israel and Rabbinic colleges on the east coast. The wisdom and warmth I have absorbed inform and energize my work with others. I would not be in the position I am today without the support of my family, friends, and community
My career life started out working as a Banker, but I was convinced it was not for me. When I relocated to England, I briefly worked as a Mental Health Support Worker. I enrolled as a Mental Health Nurse at South Bank University and completed my training at Manchester Metropolitan University. I briefly worked at Bury Forensic Mental Health Inpatient Hospital and worked at Mason Clinic Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services as a Forensic Registered Mental Health Nurse in New Zealand. In South Australia, I worked with the Crisis Mobile Team and occasionally worked with Flying Doctors to provide services to clients in the Outback. At Flinders University, I studied Master of Mental Health Science, emphasis in Cognitive Behavioral Health Therapy.
